NEW ACO National Conference 2010

The program for the inaugural ACO National Conference has now been finalised and features an impressive line up of speakers from Australia and New Zealand and optional Clinical Workshops and an optional CPR Course. More information is available here

NEW Colorimetry & Precision Tinted Lenses – Used in Clinical Practice

Professor Bruce Evans, leading British vision scientist and director of research for the Institute of Optometry in London, will present a series of lectures in Australia in October 2010. Bruce Evans is also the author of successful books on vision and reading problems (dyslexia).The lecture will focus on the treatment of specific learning difficulties in community practice and the beneficial use of precision tinted lenses in neurological and photosensitive conditions.

ACO DVD Subscription Service

During 2010, the ACO is offering a set of 5 DVDs (up to 10 lectures, subject to speaker permission) of the annual Seminar Series Lectures at a special member rate of $30 (non member rate $99). In 2010, each lecture has been allocated 1 CPD point without assessment (10 CPD points for the full series). Assessment questionnaires can be accessed here (or by request) for an additional member fee of $22 per questionnaire, or $33 for two assessments (non member rate is $33 per questionnaire). ACO Seminar Series

The next Seminar Series will be held on Tuesday 19 October, 2010 in the Amies Lecture Theatre, ACO. Both lectures are free to ACO members. Members do not need to register for Seminar Series Lectures, however for catering purposes, if you could RSVP to profdev@aco.org.au, that would be appreciated. Refreshments are available from 6.00pm. Note the commencement time is now 6.30pm.

Russell Lowe will be presenting Orthokeratology – The Farsighted Approach to Managing Myopia Progression at 6.30pm and Dr Grant Snibson will present on Curing Keratoconus and Other Fantasies at 7.45pm.
