The objectives of the College in pursuing its aims and in devloping its mission are to:

• accept leadership responsibility for the presentation of new knowledge and clinical innovation
• provide leadership to the optometric profession in the promotion and delivery of professional development
• in cooperation with other continuing education providers, and at reasonable cost, provide carefully planned and well directed opportunities for optometrists to continue learning throughout their career and to encourage all members to undertake no less than 20 hours of professional development a year
