The ACO Seminar Series is the cornerstone of the College's annual PD program. The Seminars Series, which consists of two lectures six times a year, replaced the monthly Technical Meeting. They are held on a Tuesday evening, every second month from February to November inclusive. Beginning at 6.30pm and 7.45pm, the lectures are held in the Amies Theatre at the ACO and run for approximately one hour. Light refreshments are served from 6.00pm in the Schultz Foyer and the Nathan Library remains open to 6.30pm.
The Seminar Series lectures are free to members, each earns two CPD points. During 2010, the ACO is offering a set of 5 DVDs (up to 10 lectures, subject to speaker permission) of the annual Seminar Series Lectures at a special member rate of $30 (non member rate $99). In 2010, each lecture has been allocated 1 CPD point without assessment (10 CPD points for the full series). The availability of the lectures in these formats will be subject to speaker consent and a subscription form is available here. For those members who are able to attend in person, we look forward to continuing to see you at the lectures, which not only provide valuable education but also the opportunity to network with colleagus and interact with speakers and other participants.
Previous years lectures are available on both DVD and video through the Audio Visual Subscription Service.
Non-members are welcome to attend at the cost of $44 (inc GST) and should contact the Professional Development Team to register.

Clinical Workshops
Clinical Workshops have helped optometrists adopt new clinical skills and techniques through practical demonstration. The workshops are held on site in a clinical environment in small groups, enabling participants to practice techniques under personal instruction. Participants are welcome to bring their own equipment if they so desire.
