About CVRA: History
CVRA was established in 2000 as a new major clinical research division
of the Victorian College of Optometry. CVRA has conducted
a variety of research projects, including investigations into new contact lens
and spectacle designs, microbiological analyses of contact
lens care products, and examinations of tear fluid compounds.
CVRA
research has been published in a number of refereed
and professional publications, such as Optometry and
Vision Science, Aviation Space and Environmental Medicine, the Journal of Antimicrobial Chemotherapy, Clinical and Experimental Optometry, Ophthalmic and Physiological Optics and Contact Lens Spectrum.
CVRA staff have also
presented papers and posters at numerous optometric,
ophthalmic and microbiological conferences, including the British
Contact Lens Association (BCLA) Annual Clinical Conferences,
the American Academy of Optometry (AAO) Annual Meetings, The
Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO)
Annual Meetings, the Australian Society for Microbiology (ASM)
Annual Meetings, the International Society for Contact Lens Research (ISCLR) Scientific Meetings and the International Congress of Eye Research (ICER).
