About CVRA

Clinical Vision Research Australia (CVRA) is a research organisation which conducts high quality research in clinical optometry.

CVRA is an autonomous part of the largest optometric clinic in the Southern hemisphere, allowing access to an exceptional level of equipment and expertise. A core group of experienced researchers cover a wide range of specialist research disciplines ranging from contact lenses and their associated areas to vision rehabilitation and visual function.

CVRA also conducts research in the broader areas of clinical equipment evaluation, public health optometry and basic laboratory investigations.

All our research staff have clinical experience, giving an important "real world" grounding to their research areas.

The clinical facilities at the Victorian College of Optometry can also be accessed, giving CVRA an edge in research for many specialist clinical areas and enabling it to call upon a large range of clinical facilities in addition to its own.
